In commemoration of World AIDS day on December 1, HRSA released the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Annual Data Report. This report included Notably, nine out of ten HIV patients are virally suppressed. A patient is considered virally suppressed when they cannot pass HIV via sexual intercourse. This statistic is particularly important because it reaffirms the importance of patient outreach and education. Viral suppression is a huge achievement in healthcare. However, this statistic only accounts for those receiving care. Many of those suffering from HIV are not aware that care exists, or do not know that affordable care is accessible. Outreach and education efforts can not only bring in new patients but also ascend patients into other service lines.
