IMPORTANT UPDATE: Google Analytics & Cookie Consent Compliance

We are reaching out to ensure you remain informed and compliant with two critical updates regarding Google Analytics and your website’s cookie consent.

Google Analytics Update:

Google has announced that as of July 1, 2024, Universal Analytics properties will be deactivated. Without action, this change may lead to the permanent deletion of your valuable data. To preserve access to your historical insights, we strongly advise promptly backing up your Universal Analytics data.

Why Back Up Your Data?

Your Universal Analytics data is crucial for:

  • Understanding your organization’s journey and past performance.
  • Comparing year-on-year growth to refine strategies.
  • Tracking user behavior trends for proactive decision-making.

How to Back Up Your Data:

You can back up your data through several methods:

  • Manually export to PDF.
  • Export in XLSX or CSV format for data filtering.
  • Direct export to Google Sheets.
  • Utilize BigQuery Linking for extensive data migration.

To ensure your data is secured beyond Google’s deadline, we recommend completing this process before July 1, 2024. For detailed instructions or assistance with this transition, please reach out to your Client Success Manager (CSM).

Cookie Consent Compliance:

In November 2023, Google introduced Consent Mode V2 to facilitate seamless communication of end-user cookie consent choices to Google Tags. Effective immediately, it is mandatory for all websites using Google services to implement this consent mode correctly.

We strongly recommend taking action as soon as possible to avoid any disruptions to your campaigns and maintain campaign effectiveness. Installing cookie consents on your websites is crucial for compliance with current regulations. Failure to do so may hinder Google Ads and Google Analytics from capturing data from users, impacting personalized ads, measurement, and remarketing features.
